Go See People! Securing More and Better Face-to-Face Visits; Sponsored by Dylewsky, Goldberg & Brenner, LLC

Successful fundraisers are not born. They don’t wing it. They don’t sit in their office waiting for the phone to ring. Successful fundraisers have a system, a process they follow to help them meet or exceed their goals. Consultant Joe Tumolo combines tried and tested techniques, real world examples, and humor to provide practical content that you can immediately start applying to your daily work.

Balancing an in-depth knowledge of sales, communications and fundraising, Joe will share concrete ideas and tools every fundraiser should know, such as:

  • There’s always time to call and visit donors. You’ll learn how to redirect your focus so you can spend more time with donors.
  • The skills and mindset of a great fundraiser are the same as a great salesperson. Joe will share proven sales disciplines that apply perfectly to fundraising.
  • Learn how to create a plan for seeing people and how to maximize the time you spend with them.
  • Learn how to make calling donors to set up a visit an enjoyable part of your job.
  • See how the best communicators are not good “talkers”– they are good listeners.
  • We need to be good at finding the story in our donors and telling those stories to others. You will learn how you can be a better storyteller.

By the end of this session, you will have more tools to guarantee more donor visits, specific ideas to build stronger relationships and get better results, and a process to improve the outcomes of donor interactions.

About Our Speaker

Joe Tumolo, CAP®, Constellation Advancement

Over the last 11 years, starting with The Planned Giving Company and Virtual Giving, Joe developed a client base of over 300 charities that included Universities, Independent Schools, National Charities and Healthcare and Social Service charities. He helped them with prospect screening, marketing, outbound telephone solicitation and strategy. In 2011 he helped form Planned Giving Marketing, LLC., a boutique agency that provides highly customized direct marketing programs for planned giving. In 2014 he joined the Constellation Advancement Group to focus all his attention to training and coaching charities to take their planned and major giving programs to the next level.

Joe speaks to and coaches fundraisers and board members all over the country. With the trend towards integrating major and planned gift responsibilities, he blends his relational sales training and planned giving approaches to develop well rounded fundraisers who move away from transactional fundraising to developing a connection with donors that leads to valued relationships. Joe is a board member of the Planned Giving Council of Greater Philadelphia. In his personal life and as a volunteer, Joe is planned giving chair for Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, PA where he helps in soliciting and stewarding planned giving donors.

Who We Are

Since 1995, we have helped leading nonprofits across the United States and Canada remove their biggest planned giving obstacles and double the results of their planned giving efforts with limited time and money. We listen to nonprofits—and their donors—and take what we hear to continually perfect the planned giving bridge between nonprofits and their donors. The result is the most cost effective, time efficient planned giving presentation system—donor motivation “in a box.”

Through The Donor Motivation Program® and The Donor Motivation Professionals of North America, a network of trained professionals, we have helped North American charities “motivate planned giving!” Tens of thousands of donors have engaged in our Donor Presentation Experience and rated it either “one of the finest” or “absolutely the best” of its type.  Why?  It “speaks donor!”
