AFP Roundtable Discussion: An All New, MEMBERS ONLY Event! Sponsored by Russo & Associates, LLC

Introducing a brand new MEMBERS ONLY event! Four times this year, AFP Fairfield County will offer its members a free opportunity to meet with fellow members and discuss in a casual, roundtable conversation the issues, challenges and solutions facing the nonprofit development field.

Our second program in this series will be held from 12 – 1:30 p.m. at the Trophy Room in the restaurant within Bridgeport’s Bass Pro Shop, 1 Bass Pro Drive, Bridgeport, CT  06608

A modest sampling of Uncle Buck’s menu will be offered and all attendees are encouraged to order ala cart from the Fish Bowl Menu.  This venue will not allow us to bring in our bagged lunch, so please plan accordingly.  The menu is available here for your review.

Our Program entitled “All About Boards of Directors” will be facilitated by Terry O’Connor, Executive Director, Cardinal Shehan Center and the McGivney Center, both located in Bridgeport.

Terry graduated from Niagara University in 1969 with a BS in Physical Education and earned his Master’s Degree from Syracuse University in 1971.

Terry was named Assistant Basketball Coach at Harvard University. He spent four years in Cambridge before being named the Head Coach at Fairfield University in April of 1981.      From Fairfield, he went on to the Professional ranks and served in coaching and administrative positions with the Connecticut Colonials, the United States Basketball League and the New Haven Skyhawks.

In December of 1992, O’Connor was named the Executive Director of the Cardinal Shehan Center. A highly regarded fund raiser, he has raised over $20 million since arriving at the Center. Along with renovating the 133 year old building, he has guided the addition of many new programs for the youngsters.

Terry has served on a number of boards including New England CYO, Bridgeport Regional Business Council, Leadership Greater Bridgeport, United Way of Eastern Fairfield County and the Association of Fund Raising Professionals.

In 2014, Terry was honored as the Grand Marshal of the Greater Bridgeport St. Patrick’s Day Celebration.  In 2016, he was awarded the 2016 Distinguished Citizen by Housatonic Community College.  Last year he was tapped to serve as the 2017 Barnum Festival Ringmaster.

An avid golfer, Terry is a member of Racebrook Country Club.  Terry has been married for 44 years to Mary Ann (Kroll) O’Connor. They have two sons, Ryan and Paul and have resided in Trumbull 35 years.

Russo & Associates, LLC, Attorneys at Law has been serving clients in Fairfield County for over ten years.  Our main focus is in the area of Real Estate Property, Small Business and Probate matters.  We help our clients with both transactions and litigation matters in each of these areas.

Our lawyers have a breadth of experience to help you no matter what your challenge: whether it’s buying a home or settling a lawsuit with your neighbor over a common border fence.  Many small businesses rely on our expertise when they’re first starting out, restructuring or when they find themselves in a Court dispute.  Though the most sensitive and compassionate work we do is helping families probate the estate of a loved one or setup a conservatorship to help a family member in crisis.
